I am curious if anyone has done this or has experience with this sort of thing.

I recently came to own a distributorship for a very high end manufacturer of gas grills, ranges and related items. The average sale is usually between 2-6k.

I decided to bring the physical store online, and start going after search traffic and phase out the showrooms. However, I could also drop ship to anywhere for others and pay 10% per sale, which would be in the hundreds of dollars per sale.

I see a lot of people here looking for "replicas" of cheaper items - but are there people interested in this sort of thing?

I'm interested. Send me your product/price list and I will take a look.

Hi PandaMeat,

Can you send me more info as well. I'm interested - can you also send through what country you are based in.

Thanks

Interesting, PM me your product and price list please. Thanks

Thanks for the replies. I guess there is some interest. I am putting together all info and will pm it to everyone in the next couple of days. I am in the US. The business is based in Washington State.

I should clarify upfront that by "high end appliances" I meant high end Gas Grills, Gas kitchen ranges, cook tops etc. Not "really cool blenders". The price range goes from around $1000.00 to about 15,000.00 USD. All pricing is set by the manufacturer. This means that everything must be listed for the retail price (MSRP) and if anyone is listing it lower, they are breaking the rules. That also means competitors, so its not a bad thing. In that way, the playing field should be pretty level.

I have been making my money online since 98. I didn't intend to own this business. It was just an odd set of circumstances that put this business into my possession recently. My preference would be move the entire operation online, keeping the warehouse/shipping space that we have and just use it as a hub for shipping.

There was no website or online presence, so we are busting my ass right now to put it all together, coding it all by hand (without a cms) since that we can at least have everything online as soon as possible.

Also, I want to make sure everyone understands that I don't have a system set up to do this. I will definitely do all it takes to make it work. I am very open to all suggestions and ideas that will make it easy or make it work for everyone. This was not an established online business. I have not done much in the past in the way of drop shipping expensive items. I am still trying to work out how to do this. I do have a lot of experience with PPC, affiliate programs (running them/sending traffic) and search traffic, so it will not take me long to get it together and if anyone is interested in doing real business, I will definitely do all I can to make sure you have all the support/tools that you need.

sounds like a big project... but intriguing.

why don't you just establish an online shop and takes affiliate for 10% commission?

I'd also like product and pricing info when you get it all together please.

I will probably do that in the coming months. That will require quite a bit of additional setup, tracking, promo tools, implementing some cart/our merchant account etc. There is nothing I hate more than affiliate programs that are disorganized and ill prepared to support affiliates and that will take quite a bit of preparation to implement properly. A simple solution is that people can sell from their own site and I do the order fulfillment.

Please send me all the information you're able to put together.

We're interested in reselling and would like to see the pricelist.

Thanks

having to post the full retail price will be a turn off

most people shop online to save money

please include me when you send out your information packet. thanks.
