    Hi.

Is anyone going to watch the documentary on Channel 4 tonight at 8pm about 'fake fans' on social media?

Says they will be 'unearthing the tricks used by advertisers to promote brands' on Facebook etc.. :)

Just set it to record, but I think it is mostly based on fake celebrity endorsements. Some celebs just got set up to endorse something which was not even real, and was posting how good it was to their fans on Twitter.

I will be watching but I saw the Channel 4 news report on fake Facebook likes and made me want to die. Such poor journalism, basically stated everyone selling social network likes as major fraudsters. I'm not expecting much.

Your not missing much. Apparently fake likes, YouTube views etc, are illegal. People in Bangladesh manually logging into FB accounts, should have made a bot. Its hardly ground breaking stuff.

journalist hasn't a clue. the only scam he uncovers is that a load of "social media agencies" are buying fake likes from brands. Now having worked with various social media agencies, I know that change a small fortune for their services.
