I plan on finishing High School but I really feel I would be much more successful if I dropped everything and pursued IM full time. When i was 15 I made a whopping 200 USD a day for about 3 weeks during summer from Yahoo answers, clickbank and a few web 2.0's. The method died quickly but I am now 17 and have not reached that level of success since. I began working on a whitehat site recently that I plan on taking slow but I really feel if I was working 9+ hours a day on it I could reach 50 USD a day within a few weeks. I really do enjoy IM and technology in general and I really believe that is the main reason I have been so persistent over the years. My parents generally don't support me pursuing my solopreneur dreams but I really don't care as it is my passion. I also plan on creating apps once I have a decent website portfolio. Anyway, this is just a pointless little rant and I'd like to hear some of your perspectives on dropping everything and pursuing IM.

    Peace

Me, that's like 10 years ago already. But I was earning 5 digits a month (in Euro that is). I was working on a regular job before and then some years as bartender because I liked the job, could basically chose what times I want to work and my boss was more of a friend than a boss. My parents wanted me to go back to school so my capabilities don't go unused. The goal was to study after business class but at one point I needed to decide if I want to finish school or work on my websites.
The latter won and I never regret my decision.

$50/day is $1500/month. That's poverty level. Another live at home with mommy bum complaining about mommy telling him to go to school.

$50/day at 9 hours a day is less than what you would make getting a real job, and you might actually get to be a real boy and have a social life.

You plan on finishing high school, yet you asked if anyone here dropped out of high school, or were you referring to college?

And is Internet marketing really your passion, or are you just trying to tell us that to justify dropping out?

Everyone and their dog thinks that they can earn a living online, but many of them fail and find themselves right back at square one. Graduate high school and if your parents tell you to go to college, just do it and run an online business on the side.

If you really liked it, you would find the time you needed for it.
I know I had more than 'enough' time when I was studying and had an full-time offline job (I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one).

Aren't you the epitome of a robotic new world consumer sheep, poverty? yeh maybe in consumer MERICA! in the UK that's nearly £1000 which you could easily live off as long as you don't conform to consumerism and want to live a life out the matrix but keep up with you funny remarks :).

50 USD a day within a few weeks A FEW WEEKS which he will more than likely be able to increase with more work, simpleton...

As you have stated, IM methods/revenue come and go like the wind... go ahead and finish HS if for no other reason than to get the discipline it takes to complete it. I teach GED classes as a volunteer and every one of those that are in those classes regrets not going through the little bit of work it took to get a HS diploma.

At that point you can then consider which road to take - higher education or work in the industry.

You still have a lot of years ahead of you and, whether a HS diploma holds any value to you or not at this point, you'll be sorry you did not just go and complete it as the years pass.

You're 17, what do you have a year, 2 years max? You don't want to be 30 years old and having to tell people that you blew off HS so you could build a few APPS and make a few websites.

200.00 a day for 3 weeks is no track record to hang your hat on... do that for 2 years and you can pop off a little but not too loudly as that is nothing to write home about either.

He lives in the USA per his profile so that is no real money.

I am working on it on a daily basis, I just feel I would be much more successful if I worked full time. I am studying and have a part time job as well.

True that... I was working 9-12 hours a day beside school (not going to school much), and sometimes 16 hours a day at the weekends - if needed even longer.
Its not your 'passion' if you think about putting 9 hours per day in AFTER dropping out... how many hours do you actually spend on IM?

Yes because a 17 year old who lives with his parents is such a bum. I have a part time job making 10-17 USD an hour depending on the tips and I realize 50 USD a day is not a lot. I plan on scaling up, that is why I specifically said I want to have a portfolio of websites and plan on developing apps. Also, assuming I have no social life is quite a leap and it is ludicrous to make an assumption like that over the internet.

I was referring to education in general really, also, I would end my education only if I was making enough to live comfortably off of. I believe I can earn a decent amount online because I have done it before, the method was just not sustainable. Referring to the passion part, I have been fascinated by technology in general since I was a young child, I just find it to be really entertaining.

As already pointed out, you would earn more in a Job.
If you are thinking of IM as an excuse not to study or work at a Job offline, then you won't make a dime and your parents will be proved right.
If you plan on spending 12-15 hours a day, 7 days a week sweating your nuts off until you make it, being passionate and treating it like a real business then you might have a chance.
Making money from a Job is piss easy and anybody can do it, making money from IM can be hard soul destroying work and very few really make it.

I would initially earn more at a job but one of the reasons I like IM so much is because once you get the ball rolling you can scale it. I am not saying it would be an excuse, the only thing I really do in my free time anyway is see friends occasionally and IM.

Well, if you are living at home with your parents then you should have a good talk with them.
It might be a difficult conversation and even if they agree to it they might not feel the same if you can't get results.
Taking on a fulltime Job might enable you to experience the real world and get a place for yourself, then you can pursue your IM dreams and do what you want, when you want (after the Rent is paid obviously).
Not trying to put you off but without their support you might find it difficult.

What did you do all summer? Should've been working then.

So why not start small and then start buying programs and bots to scale it up fast and then leave once you have a consistent track record?

That's pretty much my plan, I currently have mass planner which helps a lot as well. Once I make a stable amount I am just going to leave, not seeking anyone's approval anyway.

Don't drop out. That's just silly.

The Internet Marketing trend will live on, and it WILL be around when you're ready to join up..

Don't rush things - it'll only make your experience worse.
