I have a friend with disabilities that uses medical marijuana to help with some chronic pain he suffers from. He lives in California so it's legal for him to use it, but the county he lives in recently passed some ordinances that will make it difficult for people to have access to the marijuana unless they're able to grow it themselves.

He knows I do a lot online and asked if I could help get the information passed around. So I set up quick blog on blogger and posted an article for him. He'll be adding additional articles later as well. If anyone has their own blogs or websites on the topic of medical marijuana, war on drugs, general news articles, or any other pertinent niches can subscribe to a feed from http://compasionatecarekerncounty.blogspot.com/ and repost any of the articles to your own sites. Feel free to use this article and any future articles for your autoblogs or manually scrape them if you want.

I just set it up on blogger cause it was quick. I'll be setting up a lot more blogs for him on other free platforms as well. Please don't add comments unless they're relevant to the niche, in that case feel free to leave a link. It would be appreciated if you take a feed or scrape the content you leave any links intact in the articles, but the main goal is the guy wants the info distributed quickly and as widely as possible.

    The current article is http://compasionatecarekerncounty.blogspot.com/2011/08/regarding-kern-county-board-of.html
This is timely news on a current event that affects a lot of people so it would be good content for the right niches. This is regarding a local debate in California, but since other states and juristictions often follow the lead of California on these type of legal matters this is relevant for national or world news niches as well.

Thanks alot for anyone that wants to help. :cool2:

    Hey Wolf,

Sorry to hear about your buddies problems, but I envy him in a way...even the limited legality of medical marijuana is better than the gestapo like reaction that most states and the federal government have in regard to cannabis.

Have him look into setting up an ebb and flow system...they're stupid simple to setup and maintain - basically a timer, a pump and a couple of bins and once he gets it dialed in, he should be able to grow more than he needs (if there is such a thing ;)) Do a search through the big G for IC forums and he'll have all the info that he needs...

And everyone else, make sure that you pressure your legislators to consider the option of legalization with an open mind...it's about time to end the senseless criminalization of a huge segment of the population and would offer more benefits than just letting a bunch of 'stoners' get high...

Yeah he won't have any problem growing his own, but most people aren't in the same position. The city and county officials that are restricting the dispensaries in various California locales have no idea what's actually involved in growing it, especially growing it indoors. The county Board of Supervisors mentioned in that article I linked to also limited the amount of plants that can be grown in a single location. They based their decision on the assumption that an average outdoor plant can produce about a pound of product. Then they did some math to decide how many plants an average patient would need. Then using that number they declared that this number should apply to indoor grows as well. Then they decided that outdoor grows shouldn't be allowed at all.

Can you imagine a 65yo disabled lady having to manage an indoor grow in general? The Board of Supervisors not only thinks someone like that will be able to keep some plants alive indoors, but they're expecting her to get a pound per plant. The reality that the legislators fail to even look at is even experienced growers aren't likely to get more than an ounce or so per plant from an indoor grow (except in the most sophisticated operations). It's just another example of our leaders legislating on things they have no real knowledge of. Instead of listening to real experts that have answers and know what they're talking about our politicians make decisions based on the governments own propaganda and misinformation campaigns.

For having a medical marijuana program, setting up a system that allows for the operation of dispensaries makes a lot more sense than requiring everyone to grow their own. Of course, one thing in defense of the Boards decision is that the feds continually threaten to prosecute any city or county officials who actually set up any reasonable regulations. That's why it's important to educate people about the facts regarding the federal prohibition. Most people don't realize that this is really a state's vs. federal rights issue. At it's foundation, if you look past the misinformation and propaganda the fed likes to cloud everyone's minds with, prohibition is just a ruse for the federal government to hold more power over the states. It's contrary to the ideals our country is based on and eventually the feds will lose out. Until then though a lot of people will continue to be misled by the government and even more people will have to suffer for it.

Be sure to check back now and then on the blog I linked to in the first post. There's only a couple articles there now, but more will be added as time goes on. I have a lot of information regarding the prohibitions history and background, as well as a lot of info on the benefits and safety regarding it's potential uses.
