Customer support with airlines sucks.

Basically I'm trying to fly back on an earlier plane which happens to be a less busy and cheaper time to fly, so you'd think they'd be somewhat accommodating because I know the flight I'm on is going to be overbooked.

I called customer service for Air Canada today and after 30 minutes I got some sassy lady that said "Once you look at all the fees you'll be facing, it'd just be cheaper to book a new ticket." LOL, even she admits the fees are not worth it. So this ticket will go to waste, but this ticket was already a rebooking for ANOTHER one. I've already ditched a $750 ticket (which I paid a standard fixed-rate <$500 for) and that seat will be empty. There policies just fuck you over.

And as always, I'm going to try to do some BH stuff.. I might pop a tweet into 100 Twitter accounts and see if I can get some actual help. You think once you've spent enough money with them, they'd start to appreciate it like when you threaten to leave the cell phone companies.

When I was once put on standby they promised me a new flight and 500 usd, which I didn't receive for 2 months. I just pushed them through email every couple of days asking where my money is. In the end I then got it.

What I did was write a 300 word rant in about 10 minutes then post it to a Web 2.0 and then spam it to their twitter. I'm gonna pop it into GSA and distribute it on some sites.

well, practically when you buy a ticket, you agree to the terms of the airline, which contain the modification/re-booking fees or if there's any possibility for a modification for free, i had a brick and mortar travel agency where we sold plane tickets on a daily basis and i know that nobody reads the terms, just sign, because ain't nobody got time fo' dat

it can be that their policy suck, but you agreed to it, when you bought the ticket
could they be more flexible? maybe or maybe not because it's an automated system which deals with the re-booking and adjust the fees accordingly, but they don't even have to be flexible, because they're covered by the very policies you agreed to when you bought the first ticket
that lady told you the truth, oftentimes it's cheaper to book a new ticket than modifying

honestly i'm not sure if a few tweets will help in this case

With normal companies they would but with airlines, they really don't care in most cases.

It's not even about the money anymore, it's more about the thought. I'm wasting money just to rebook another ticket with the same damn airline that I hate.
