I have anxiety and mild depression. Im always on this rollercoaster... mostly from being addicted to klonopin and combining that with alcohol. I quit my job, stress drove me nuts... I used to lift but dont have the energy to do more then a few sets a day.... dropped out of a good college.... Now im taking online college courses.... trying to make some money via black hat methods but that isnt going too well.

Don't take this in the wrong way but you seriously need some psychological counseling. But first you should see your primary physician just in case you have a medical problem.

I don't think you will improve until you get professional help.

I have had issues with Klonopin before myself. It's the best when you first take it, then you are irritable when you don't have it, then it's where you are taking too much to get a minimal effect...kind of a scary drug because its legal.

I don't know the best method for you, but I quit that shit cold turkey. I just started going for lots of walks, and focused on making myself a better person. This was a year before I got into IM...but keep your head up man, try and get off the pills, post some ads on CL and move to the next chapter of your life.

Depression definately , I'm on the right path nowadays but I've seen some pretty dark days.

The courses and IM are pretty much the same thing I've done and it'll keep your mind on other things at least, I've been collecting distance learning qualifications for a couple of years lol

Yeah, it makes getting success in IM a bitch. But I drag my ass to work because I got a kid to feed. Can't handle that klonopin stuff. I know a couple of people addicted to that crap. Shrinks suck and mostly wanta push pharmaceutical profits but I'm going to try another one.

I deal with anxiety and have been taking lexapro.. I am not depressed, but I think if I were in any other situation of lifestyle, I would be. I tend to be very optimistic and without this, I am not sure how I would be today. Been looking into a more herbal route, down the path of nootropics. I think this experience has made me a better person though.

Its obvious that he has a doc since he's prescribed klonopin (clonazepam). I'm prescribed it as well, but my doc HEAVILY recommended that the very first thing i do in the morning, after the bathroom, heh, is put on some shoes and take at least a 20 minute walk. Running/jogging is fine as well, but at least 20 minutes. Sunlight is a natural antidepressant, and it also gets the body going, which in turn releases the bodies' own natural antidepressants as well.

Also, another thing I've noticed that would effect my depression and overall mood is that typically, we work alone, all day (or night), and might not get as much socialization as other people do. Not interacting with other people on a daily basis can definitely fuck you up as well.

I have never had Klonopin but I have had my fair share of anti deppresent's, I had a drink problem and drinking with these seemed to make it all go away for a bit, but then it comes back twice as strong, you think you can escape it all but you never can, there is only you who can change you, you can blame the world all you want but it all comes back to you in the end, I am not trying to sound harsh I am just trying to show you some realisation, once you realise this and get some motivation you are on the right track to starting a new life, do as some of the others suggest and try and take some walks, even if it is just to the end of your driveway or front path, it is a start and then each day take a little step further, it will show you motivation.
If you are addicted to drinking and taking the drugs then get the help to get off them being prescribed more drugs doesn't help you just end up in a catch 22 situation.
I could go on and on but these are the starting steps to take. If you need any more help us bhw's will help if we can.

    Best of Luck

Ok. Expert help is at hand.

1/ Klonopin is for serious epilepsy and seizures why were you prescribed this... You need an SSRI only something that ends with "tine"

2/ Dont worry about it.. We all have it... Worrying makes it worse.

3/ Go see the Doc see if you can get an SSRI, you may be experiencing issues with that DRUG, and ask if you are able to easily port from one to the other.

4/ Don't to too much at the gym, its not about how many sets, its little and often. Take a short 15 20 min walk everyday if you can. Then force yourself to get to the gym just do a few exercises and dont lift too heavy... keep it sets of 10 x 2 for chest , arms leave it a day then 10 x 2 sets for legs and back.

    5/ Drink more fluids.

6/ Try and go to bed a bit earlier before 1030 for a week will sort you out.

7/ Investigate a gentle yoga class locallly and I mean Gentle. Yoga cures depression in 4 weeks.

8/ get some literature from authors like "Wayne Dyer" - Read "notes from a friend" - Anthony Robbins. Read "peaks and valleys"

9/ Contgratulate yourself for doing one small tiny thing each day, do not try and take on too much.

10/ Major issue is alcohol, try and drop it by a 3rd a week to start with. The more you are "active" I dont mean athlete, the more you will desire less alcohol.

11/ Ask the Doc why you were prescribed a drug that has addictive qualities.

12/ With or without an addictive drug it is not the end of the world.

13/ Accept down days for what they are nothing more. Agree that it is tempory.

14/ Start learning about how great the brain and human mind is and what its potential is for unimaginable things, and your curiousity alone will pay off massively.

Check back here from time to time.

Dont let a business idea wind you up... there are always plenty..

And dont make business decisions on bad days or anxiety days...

See more animals. Get to woods more..spend time just hanging with mates a bit more.

Careful of the benzos (atavan, xanax, etc.). If you get hooked (and you will) the best way to get off of the junk is to mix the tabs in water and sip the water as you need it. This gives you just enough of the drug to calm you down without knocking you out.

Docs don't care, they make too much moolah.

I have anxiety, It used to be really bad but then I started seeing a shrink for it. I saw a Psychiatrist who can not legally prescribe medication. I am a disabled veteran and one part of my disability is actually depression, although I would say its more anxiety. My particular anxiety is social, I get anxiety in social situations. I typically get red and swear profusely when this happens. The thing that I had to come to terms with was this was just the way am. Right now I am sitting in a coffee shop and there are many people around me, and I am actually experiencing anxiety right now because there are so many people here. I also attend school and it can get very bad for me in class, especially when I have to give presentations. When i get anxiety and start to turn red and sweat people notice and it usually gets worse. The thing that I do is just let my anxiety happen, and let myself just experience what is happening. Then it usually goes away. People will stare and point and whatever but thats just what I have to come to terms with. This is how I am and there is nothing that I can do about it so thats how I deal with it. The thing is when I do that and just let my self get all red and sweat without running away it gets better. The more you desensitize yourself to it the better it is. Anyways, i hope this has helped. You can pm me if you want. If there is an anxiety support group where you live that would probably help you. There is not one where i live so im sol. Hope this helps.

My job? My job sucks...that's why I'm here.
I agree with The Scarlet Pimp about staying away from xanax - shit works, but it is adictive, and it worked in my case by just making me go to sleep. When I had anxiety, my doc prescribed me lexapro which is very mild and seemed to work...maybe something to ask you doc about?
