    Hi guys,

I am wondering if anyone has had any success with getting sponsored reviews of their digital products (books and software)?

I am looking at giving it a shot to promote a plugin of mine but a bit cautious about who to approach. johnchow is one site I am willing to try but if anyone has some advice or know of some cheaper/smaller blogs I can start the ball rolling with it would be much appreciated.

    Cheers :)

I have used payperpost. First of all they have a lot of blogs that have signed up. This would be great, but the majority of them post really crappy content. They are mostly new sites on swiped domains (so high PR, but for how long?) and the turnover is so quick, I found them to be worthless. We received virtually no traffic from the posts as well.

You are on the right track with talking to real bloggers about reviewing your products / services. Also, if you have something worth reporting on, take a PR approach, and offer to write the article for them, and you may not end up paying anything.

    Thanks for that.

Yeah, I am looking for traffic rather than the SEO benefits. Trying to get some traffic from places other than Google. I'm happy to spend the money to get on the big blogs...but I still want to make sure it is a wise investment.

Good tip on trying to use a PR to get some activity!

Why not try mashgaming or waukster

they have decent traffic. I think mashgaming is having 100 visits a day

Thanks for the ideas but I want to stick with the Internet marketing niche (or maybe small business) as my offer is pretty targeted.

I am finding that a lot of the banner advertising on these sites is quite affordable but surely the CTR is pretty poor.

I'll keep digging and let everyone know how I go.
