Anyone utilizing facebook fan page to represent business? I've been working on my facebook page for my business but haven't published it yet, still researching on how to make better page for attracting clients. Thanks for sharing
I've used Facebook pages to great success. It all hinges on using it in a manner which is congruent with how regular FB members use Facebook. If you're a brick and mortar business, take special advantage of FB Events (users RSVP, goes viral). Take pictures liberally at the event. Tag the fuck out of those pictures. Really... make sure you're anal about matching the faces of people who attend to their FB accounts. Again, this goes viral. With how FB pages show up in users' news feeds so prominently now, you need to get on top of how that works to your benefit.
Yeah, with the recent changes any update you make shows up in a fans feed. I have nearly 8000 for our company fan page, and just give people an incentive to become a fan.
We just run a couple of competitions which only fans can enter, so that's their incentive. Prizes are free for us to give out, as they can only be used on out site, but still have a monetary value. Don't use any apps, just FBML boxes to display html etc.
Ah, I see so it's kinda discounts for your products as the incentives, very clever. I'm using few apps like videos, reviews, html preview for my opt-in (still working on it), etc. Still figuring out what the hell FBML can be used for.
I have a fans group for one of my sites. I just started a few weeks ago and it has about 1100 fans right now growing 20-30 a day. Basically just update it with news, put pictures up every so often, and videos if you have them. Also make them feel special for being a fan - such as exclusive things for fans only. Discounts for products using a coupon code for fans or "If this group reaches 2000 fans I will...." that seems to work well especially if ppl like what you are offering.
