Are any members here from Australia and run their own digital agency?

I dont mean a bedroom SEO guy, I mean somebody who has an office and a client list and so on.

Im an considering moving to Australia for a couple of years, I have lots of friends out there, however, for my visa application, I would require a sponsor form another professional in my industry.

"bedroom seo guy"...............nice choice of words............

No offence and Im not knockin anyone in this situation, but they are fussy about this stuff when getting a working visa. I can apply for a visa as a marketing specialist. Just need a digital agency to sponsor my application.

good luck finding someone from BHW who will help you to get visa for Australia..lol

Epic bump.

Im going to be out there next week. Can anyone recommend any good places to go freshwater fishing for Carp, close to sydney.

I have read on a few forums that most golf courses have Carp on their lakes, does anyone know of any that allow them to be fished?

Carp? Why would you catch carp....You can't even eat em....there a pest down here....

I dont fish to eat. Im all about catch and release. I only sport fish when im on holiday. Carp fishing has been a passion of mine since I was about 5 years old. In the UK they are the biggest fish you can catch in freshwater.

I would imagine that Australia is somewhat like France, where the temperature helps increased growth rates and yields larger fish. My current personal best is 29LB. Carp grow twice that size in warmer climates, so I really want to take advantage of the time i spend there.

I will be doing plenty of sport fishing too, out in the deep waters. But freshwater fishing for carp means I can take a load of beers and a few of my mates and make an evening out of it.

Here is a nice 26LB Common Carp I caught on a trip to France a couple of years back

Ah I see, well I hate to throw a plug but if you want to reach out to aussies it might be worth registering an account on kangaroomafia.com there's about 25 members all in Aus there but we just installed new forum software so we are waiting for all our members to re-join. Another guy and I run the forum.

I like to eat the fish I like Tommy's and Whiting probably Whiting my favourite. You probably will find if you throw some nets out you will get a lot of blue crabs too just chuck in a bit of meat and they come running for it. You probably know that already though. Sorry can't help you with fishing spots in Sydney because I've never fished there.

I'm sure you will get some nice fish to catch and release though whilst you're here. Just remember to have a designated boat driver if your bringing beers plus lifejacket and a bottle of water. And your boat driver actually needs a boat license down here but it's cheap and very easy to get.

Sorry if you knew the above just trying to help mate.

Thanks mate, I was actually planning on fishing from the bank. Thats how i roll, set up the bite alarms and get pissed and blog on my ipad. At least thats what I do in the UK.

I think a boat would be a bad idea, im not planning on going bushwacking. just to commercial venues.

I spent a year in Australia, and there's a shit load of sea fishing off the jetty that goes on, you will be spoiled for choice.

its marlin season, i know what i'll be doing :P I went out 4 days in a row last week in Mexico and drew a blank. Lady luck has got to be on my side next week :)

Enjoy your trip to Aus fellow BH'er =)
Safe travels my friend.

PM me about the marlin fishing.

And just when do you need that VISA? I do work out of a home office - but already have employees, and will be taking on an assistant in the not too distant future.

And we fish for Barramundi where I come from - not goldfish.

Thanks, I got a 1 year travel visa. Then after that I need to get sponsored for the second year.

I so badly want to bag that monster marlin or sail fish. Fishing is a great passion of mine so i will be doing plenty of it and many different varieties.

Welcome to the dark side G-S-T :D

Unfortunately my knowledge of Sydney is limited to where I've been on holiday for music festivals/etc so no fishing secrets. Know lots of spots in WA though!

Hey GST
Good Luck "down under"
I bet u pleased about toffees winning at home vs man city ;)

When carp fishing in Australia make sure no one sees you put the fish back. If you do I think it is about a $5000 fine. Knock it on the head and leave it for the ants. As for doing some serious fishing these guys catch marlin from the shore, now that is sports fishing and most members live in sydney so you might find someone to help you out there.
