After almost a year of trying to get a very competitive keyword to rank #1, G has decided that some piece of shit PBN with a tl;dr version of my own content should be placed in the prime position right above.

Actually, its not the same thing, but it is promoting a shitty scam product along with some products that I promote.. either way, its fucking annoying that they take a snippet from results that are 6-9 after all that effort.

Some things Ive tried doing is creating an unordered list of all the "best" products I am promoting. Also bought a bunch of social signals with the keyword nearby. Also embedded an image with the alt text of my keyword on some pbns and web 2.0s.

A month later, it still hasn't done anything. In fact G stole the questions and answer that I curated on another related faq page, and links to all the sources from my article but not my site for this under the idiotic "knowledge box".

A bunch of absolute cunts I say.

Anyway, if anyone has exp with this please feel free to share. So far, it seems to be pretty random.

So you won't want the featured snippet ? The featured snippet is suppose to be a good thing, although I could see a situation maybe where it isn't... If you're featured it means google likes your content, so I guess you could try making the page worse lol ?

Nothing we can do about it. If you complain about Google's abusive practices, their fanboys show up and give you the shit. All we can do is hope the antitrust authorities and the EU do somethin about Google, otherwise it's gonna get much worse in the near term.

Abusive practice? Just because Google penalized your shitty affiliate site does not mean they're abusing. They don't give a single fuck about your affiliate site nor should they.

Lately you've been complaining more and more about Google but let's be real here.. They are doing a decent job. The way I see it is Google have two objectives:

    - Make money through ads
    - Find the most relevant answer to their clients queries.

They don't and should not give a fuck about anything else. If they think your site is not worthy of #1 then it's on you, not them. To Google, we're just parasites, they are using us/our content to make money but don't forget that we are using their platform to make money as well.

I find it funny when I hear people like you blaming Google because you can't make a dime online "Oh Google released an update, penalized my site on purpose because they want me to use Adwords and spend money. Fuck Google" "Don't use Gmail or any other Google products because they might find your PBN's and de-index you. I don't care if I'm going against their TOS they should let me game their algorithm and rank my shitty site so I can make a living. Google is evil" get your shit together bro, Google will never hand you $ on a silver platter.. You gotta work (smart) for it.

Google has become so convoluted in recent years that traffic quality sems to blow ass most of the time. Conversions go up and down dramatically and they continue to take a bigger cut of the pie from the work webmasters put into their sites. So some aggravation towards them is totally justified IMO... it is abusive in some ways, especially if they take your content and use it for the google home spy device and/or scrape your content with no credit (like they did with the q&a I created).

that being said, if you aren't a whitehat knight that carries on about "quality content" and "natural" links then we are manipulating the fuckers for financial gain in some way.

The only way forward is to take a bigger cut ourselves, rank more keywords, figure out what works while we can and cash out while we have strategies that actually work. I tried the method in the article and haven't seen anything yet. Still the same shitty answer in the box.

I'm not really sure how you can say they are doing a good job by ramming Amazon and shit down people's throats for any given keyword.

If I wanted Amazon products rammed down my throat, I would quite simply search Amazon.

I am just using Amazon as an example, it is one of many sites that is too frequent in the search results, to give a good user search experience.

If your queries is commercial then it is normal to see Amazon/Affiliate sites pop up. I mean if you're searching for the best dildo chances are that the most relevant sites are a bunch of comparison articles

I wasn't really talking about Amazon in general. There are plenty more websites that are forced down your throat. It is becoming a little excessive, to the point where I would rather use Yahoo.

Anyway, just my opinion, I find the search results becoming progressively worse on Google.

I just remembered what really pissed me off about Google the other day. I was travelling and when searching Google for certain things to do with my travels ie hotels and shit. I was confronted with several pages of shite that was mostly TripAdvisor, what was more annoying, is barely any of it was relevant.
