Anyone ever get lucky?

Has anyone ever got lucky and had someone genuinly want to teach them something out of their own kindness? Everything always seems to have some sort of weird string attached or a cost. I might just be saying this because I am not very succesful yet. If I ever do become successful at something I would be happy to teach someone else and put them on.

I know a lot of things can't be shared in public because then it destroys the method or its value if it can be easily replicated. I'm not arguing about whether or not people should or shouldn't share. That's pretty much up to whoever has the knowledge. I just want to know if anyone has ever met someone who genuinly invested time into you no strings attached.

Nah not what i'm asking. I guess I should reword my question to make it more clear.

I want to know more about everyones origins. How everyone got started. More specifically if they had someone who helped them get their foot in the door

I for example started trying to get free wizard101 gift cards and ever since then i've been into mmo. Fell for a few blackhat cpa offers before in my youth
