Hi guys, I've been making a lot of money with Textbroker however I'm under 18 and when registering I put that I was over 18 years of age. I had to send in a W-9, and so far I have not been caught.

My father has stated if I make over $2,500 I have to report taxes, if I make over this will I be caught and banned from here?

Is anyone else under 18 and has made over $2,500 with textbroker?

Your case seems interesting and I doubt there would many guys earning that much via Textbroker at your age. Let me admit that I am curious to know how come you are earning that much single handedly through Textbroker. Anyways keep earning mate. All the best.

If you are in USA i believe you have to report if you make anything over $600. If you did a w 9 most likely sooner or later they will catch up to you and say, hey by the way, you owe use $2,500 and then you will have to file and pay what you really owe which should be like $700 depending on your write offs

Anything over $600 requires reporting to the IRS.

I write for TB, and I usually pull maybe $100-$150 a week or two weeks. It really is up to the writer. However, I am a 5 star writer.

What is your age? Most of this money I am saving though, however I read the FAQ and they send they send out an earning report every $600. My father had informed me at $2,500 that I will have to pay taxes. I haven't quite hit $2,500 yet, as I'm only at around $705 earning from textbroker.

Here is what it states in the FAQ: "A 1099 is an IRS document that shows your earnings from our site. The IRS requires us to send this document out to those who have earned more than $600 with us. We send the 1099 out once a year in January with the total amount you have earned with us over the entire year.
Please claim all income earned with us on your taxes. Please consult a tax professional if you are unsure how to handle this income.
While we are happy to provide any necessary documentation, Textbroker is not a tax professional and cannot help you file your taxes."

I'm currently 19 almost 20.

If I remember correctly, I only had to file/report things over $600. Therefore, I imagine you will have to pay taxes on what you. Definitely if they give you a 1099 form. That's the form given to freelancers/independent contractors. I would play it safe and contact a local tax guy and ask him. They'll be willing to help you :).

If I get a 1099 form, I'll do that. My dad would probably know, so i'll probably just ask him. Hope it doesn't take away too much of my earnings :/
