Anyone Else Sick Of All The Watermarked Images Iin Google Images

    God damn finding an image to use for a site is difficult as every effing image is watermarked! Even stupid generic clip-art ones are. So damn frustrating, I wish Google could filter these out from their results somehow!

    Here's a trick: Search image subject + istock and see what happens...

    And then run the image through OptiPNG or ImageMagick or any other image optimizer to strip out any hidden licensing information in the meta information. This information is commonly embedded by the stock photo companies so they can track their licensing and most people don't know to remove it. If you remove it, they cannot prove one way or another that you haven't licensed it and then just crunched the image. But if you specifically took the image without licensing it, and the stock photo company find out, it might come back and bite you. It's a simple, one-step process that might save you a little heartache.
