I used to be a MMORPG freak, and I watch these people spend hours and days doing this.... but what's it for? Nothing. Now because of the extra time I put in IM it's paid off by the thousands. Plus black hat and IM are almost like video games in themselves. Strategy genre.

Anyone else quit, or almost stop gaming to spend more time at IM? How'd it payoff?

i used to be addicted to Conquer Online, spent many hours playing that game.
I run my own text based online game that i manage a few hours a week, but looking to offload that also so that i can spend more time on IM

Lol I can definitely relate to this.. I didn't even buy Civ 5 or Fable 3 when they came out even though I'm a huge fan of both series.. too much of a distraction..

I took a different approach before quitting MMORPG. :)

I noticed the amount of money to be made and I had MMO Guides created and sold on eBay, my website and amazon. I also created MMO forums for the games I played and the games I didn't and had proper mods assigned to take care of everything.

Generated a nice hefty profit then quit... MMO has been a profit to me rather than a time waster.

yeah i gave them all up years ago. After spending 10 hours worknig the last thing I needed was to spend another 3-4 hours playing games....Prefer to get out and get fit, socialize etc... Much healthier and happier now.

Any chance the MMORPG you were playing was called WoW ?

Yeah I've stopped playing completely so I can focus on IM. I found it just as satisfying and fun as playing that drug-like game.

I won't lie, it was hard to give it up. I wanted to take down TLK so much before Cataclysm, but then I came to my senses and saw HOW MUCH of my time I was devoting to it. I figured it was unhealthy and here I am, not having touched it for quite a while, despite of being a Cataclysm Beta Tester when I quit. I can tell you, beta testing Cataclysm was very fun but my inner voice just kept repeating and repeating how unhealthy this is and how I am destroying my future.

Internet Marketing feels so much more fulfilling and satisfying, although it sure doesn't cost you just $15 a month.

Due to total lack of social life, though, I plan to return to WoW when Cataclysm is released, but this time I will play responsibly and only on weekends. No national holidays, no personal holidays, no exceptions. I am fine with replacing my social life with a game, but not my professional life.

If you know what you are doing, you have plenty of sparetime.

I deliberately have not bought a PS3, WII, or XBox, because if I have them then I will buy games and I will play them - and yeah, I have better things to do. Very rarely there will be a PC game I want to play - and I'll play it for far too many hours for a few days (Fable was the last one) and then deinstall it. Actually that's a good example - I'm half annoyed that Fable 2 & 3 aren't on PC, but also relieved at the same time.

I used to be a huge halo fan and other first person shooters like cs on the computer but I quit all that to focus on IM. Since I do have a 40hr/week job I can only focus on IM during my spare time..

Actually CIV and Starcraft are Strategy Games not MMORPGS
MMORPG= Massivly Multiplayer Online Role_Playing Game or somethign like that. Starcraft is a Strategy game..
By the way is it SC1 or SC2 ? I cutted down my time playing SC2 becouse of the huge imbalances in favour of terran(Massing Siege Tanks+Vikings+Marines = Auto Win)
