    Hey guys, quick question!

If I donated to a charity online, is there some sort of "thank you recipt" thatt I get? Reason I'm asking is that Igot a domain, and my original plan was that people would donate to me, and I would give all the donations (100%) to the charity.

That caused a lot of problems that may occur.

So I'm wondering... If I donate to a charity, is there a proof of donation kinda thing? Where then they can email me, and I can thank them on my website?

    Thanks.

In NZ if you donate more than a certain amount to a registered charity you can get a tax receipt from them. You keep that for your financial records and get a percentage of your donation refunded to you from your taxes up to a certain value.

In our family we've always donate 10% of our income and since I was a kid, even in hard times there are people who have it worse than you. Registered charities will give you a receipt if you specifically request it.

Most charities will provide you with a tax receipt as charitable donations are tax deductible. So yes, you'll get a receipt. But collecting donations and forwarding them on might make you look a bit shady.

Agreed with 7878. I've donated online A LOT. (i'm the type of guy that donates weekly if possible..) There is always some type of confirmation receipt.

So can I ask people something like...

"Please provide me with your confirmation receipt, and in return I will put you on my "Thank You" page or something?"

Can't they just Photoshop it? Or people aren't that shallow towards that?

Yes they do provide tax receipt for people who helped but as you said its easily photoshop. So the best way is you donate it personally and take a photo of it

Charity donations is just a way for big people to launder money.

And i don't want to go in detail when some informations got out that some medicine bought with "donated money" we're causing cancer after a while.

    So no,I will never donate.

If you want to make something good,go buy an icecream for a kid that sleeps on the park. You'll feel much better when you'll see his smile, then seeing numbers on papers.

Okay, but what if I want to thank other people?

What will be the best way to go on about it?

I was thinking of them sending me the confirmation-of-donation paper?
