I don't know if this has been brought up before, but does anyone else realize that search engines may be reading the strategies discussed within this forum?

I don't want to alarm anyone, but a few years ago (when my interest was in other areas of IM other than SEO) I had a close relative who worked in a high position within a major search engine's spam department. I asked this person if they had ever read any of the forums regarding SEO techniques and they told me "Yes, we actually have teams who's primary job is to read discussions on SEO manipulation in Russian, Chinese, French, and English".

Of course, I'm sure a majority of you already knew this...just thought I would share this because it's been on my mind ever since I started doing SEO.

Im sure every (large) search engine has decent sized teams of investigators like this. The fact is knowing that people are using a certain method is different to limiting its effectiveness through an algorithm update. Its so much harder for SEs to reduce effects of effective linking and traffic techniques so Im sure for every one they block another one will pop up.

Just think many years ago you could use simple keyword stuffing to get really high in SEs (I remember because I used to do it lol), we all evolve to our surroundings and Im sure there will always be a place for professional SEOs.
