    Im talking about comment spam.

When I find a nice high PR blog page that I can leave my single link on (surrounded by relevant text so its not obvious to Google), quite often it's been blasted by viagra links.

Ok, I can understand why you might want to leave a comment consisting only of 40 links to the same domain. If that works for you, very nice.

But what I don't get is why they then make it crystal clear to Google that the links are spam by leaving the same comment twelve times on the same page!

It ruins the page both for users and other spammers, and it ruins the viagra spammers own chances of ranking well.

The Google Bot may have some issues detecting spam comments, but there's no chance it can't spot this viagra crap from miles away.

I just thought the culprits might be lurking somewhere on this blackhat forum.. ;)

I have wondered the same points - no trying to keep a low profile just a waste of efforts

I used to be top #10 for "viagra" keyword(yep one word + combined), it took me only 50-60 blog posts, innovative seo and 2 months to get there but that was long ago.

You can really make money with viagra but if in this age you wanna go ahead for it do it only if you love really big challenge and you can be sure those guys are not gonna make it.

Anyone have a gameplan for viagra, or have you see none anywhere? I'm going to dump all of my junk projects and go for it.

I agree with Micallef, if you are here, please don't ruin it for everyone by obviously spamming to heck decent sites. I have just had to delete over 1200 spam comments off one of my blogs from some "donkey" who goes under the name of john838 and various other guises/numbers for a variety of viagra and related sites. This has caused me to severely tighten posting on my blogs which affects decent users.

I've started to allow anyone to comment on my blog without approval, but all comments with 1+ URLs are held for moderation. Tried Disqus and Intense Debate, but nobody wants to have to register to post.
