I read horror stories with godaddy charging without inquiring + taking away domains..

I never registered with them and they have some good coupons.
Anyone have experience on that matter?

    Thanks.

Just use name.com for free whois protection with the coupon freewhois. If you don't value your domains, by all means put fake info on them... Godaddy likes screwing people over.

I register most of my names in Name.com.

I want to purchase almost 15 domains and it will be $150 in one go. Don't feel like it ATM.

    Thanks for the tip though.

    namecheap or internetbs FTW

or if you reg 5 or more names @ GD you can get a free year of whois privacy

and there's always the transfer away move near the end of the first year at any registrar you use

I have fake details on my domains mostly, haven't been troubled by them for over 3 years now. I don't think they'll trouble you without any reason. If you spam you're domains and then someone launches an inquiry, then maybe they'll check the whois and cause you problems. Otherwise i don't think its a big deal, but thats just my experience!

If you don't value your domains, I don't see why you'd need real information. If you're going to make money on your domains is it worth the risk? You're on blackhatworld so I'd assume you're making money on your domains. Are you really willing to risk losing domain(s) as a result of fake information and $10? My domains privacy is worth well over $10 seeing as I make much more than that on them.

With that being said, I have no idea if it will ever effect most people.
