If he's a master, he can go to las vegas and eventually crush 300/600 games at the bellagio. No need to make money online, and he won't be cheated.

I think poker/gambling is one of the most saturated niche online. You will be having a hard time if your planning to use seo to drive traffic to your site especially if you dont know anything about it. My advice is to use social media for traffic it would be easier for someone who is starting out

I think he wanted to "play" poker to earn money not to work in this niche.

Online poker ring games = you and two other dudes + 6 scammers who can see each other's holecards

If he wants to make money in poker playing online ring games for small/medium stakes is not the way to make money. Tell him to save up some money for a stake, and move to Las Vegas or Los Angeles and play brick and mortar game. If he's ANY good, he should be able to beat mid range games like 15/30 for more $ than if he got a job at McDonald's. Live like a pauper, increase his bankroll, , eventually move up to no limit games and you can make pretty decent $ for a single guy ($30/hr+ at 2/5 NL)

Poker sites are designed to make a profit, not to make you rich. Keep that it mind.

Well, there are a lot of things to consider here. I have been a professional online poker player for over 13 years now and I happen to be in the online poker affiliate industry as well so I can guide you. Before I can even begin to give a recommendation to your friend, I'd need to know:

    1) What country he resides in. If it's the USA, I'll need to know what state. Laws vary from country to country and state to state in the US. As such, not every poker site services every state.

    2) I'd need to know what game(s) and stake(s) your friend wants to play. Is he into tournaments? Cash games? Omaha? Holdem? Sit and Goes? The more specific your answer the better.

That's simply not true. I've made a handsome living playing online poker since 2003. If it were rigged, then it's rigged in my favor. For nearly a decade and a half. And at over 60 online poker sites.

The fact of the matter is, that poker is a skill game and it can be beaten long-term. It does require a ton of study, discipline, money management, etc. It must be treated like a business if one wishes to succeed!

    Seo is the same!

No doubt about it. I've been running an online poker related website for a decade now and the SEO is competitive (at least, in my mind it is, I'm sure there are much more difficult niches out there). In fact, I actually joined these forums to help round out my SEO knowledge, improve my rankings, and ultimately to grow my site.
