    Hey Folks,

I've just written a tool to bulk create the HTML descriptions by ripping Amazon in order to sell on eBay. The tool works well for the most part but there are a few listings that get a little screwed and don't look so good.

I don't want to spend the time going through them all.. I'd like somebody else to look at each HTML file I produce and flag the ones that need to be tweaked. I think AWS Mech Turk could do this.

Am I correct? Does anybody else use Mech Turk for tasks not too dissimilar to this, how does it work?

Are there any other similar services I should be aware of.

    Thanks in advance...

It'd probably be easier to just hire a temporary VA. That way you don't have to deal with explaining the same shit to different people and hope they understand it.

Oh shit - do you need to explain to each person on Mech Turk?

I think i'll just get a VA in that case. Wouldn't mind trying it out. Are they available here?

    Cheers.

Not so much. You basically have a template similar to how you would a VA. But anything remotely complex turns into a shitshow when you are trying to explain minute details to dozens of microworkers. Better to explain it once, especially if you value your time at a high enough rate.

They're mostly incapable of learning anything complicated at all. I used to have some methods years ago to keep them from submitting the assignment for pay, so you could get unlimited simple tasks for free (thinking back kind of a dick move, they were only asking for $1 at the very most). I only had maybe 4 or 5 ways to do it though and eventually all got patched and that site immediately became worthless. The majority of people on there are too dumb to do anything, I mean they're working at like $.50 or less a task quite often its to be expected from a pool like that but still its pretty ridiculous.

That's great advice. I take it a step further and video it going through it the first time. And give them a FAQs doc to add questions too in case anything was missed. If they flake out you can get someone else up to speed with just a few emails.

How are costs calculated for these type of microworker sites?

I want somebody to renew 1000 ebay listings, I have a streamlined program made to assist this. I think it could take 20 seconds to review each listing.

Do I need to breakdown the cost to review each listing or what?

    Thanks.
