I just read about fatc0w.com recently and their prices are cheap. Does anybody know if they are reliable?

Hey, I'm new to Black Hat so I hope I am doing this right. Yes, I started with Fat-Cow about 2 months ago, (Jan.2009) and I think their program is great. :)

There are tons of reliable web hosting company out there, most of them are very cheap, you can get at no more than $10 per month for a shared hosting, just google it for a reliable one, or you can come to www.webhostingtalk.com for some advice, and also they have a special offer section where you can get a big discount.

I am using several cheap hosts. Opened an account with FC to see how it goes. I asked for tech supp online a couple of times and they were okay.
The interface is very much simplified from the cPanel I am used to - I compare to H0stmonstr. Yet I was able to find almost everything I need so far.
I will post more once I have anything interesting, good or bad.

I think I will be signing up with Fatcow as well. They seem pretty cheap!

I know the thread is old, but Vbp6us brought it back, not me.

Fatcow is terrible, they false advertise and are just a scam in my opinion...

@6 While you might have a point, your argumentation is missing. Try to share facts before posting opinions. Otherwise it's just noise.

Fact0w oversells. If this comes as a surprise to you, do your research. They oversell heavily, which explains why they are cheaper than other "cheap" hosts.

    My major caveats with them:
    - no cron jobs (this is the sign your server is oversold, even prior to doing reverse DNS on the ip)
    - poor database management until recently
    - poor backup management
    - paid subdomains (outrageous imho)

Interesting thing, you can customize the DNS entries but you need to open a ticket to get access. It's free, though - even if you don't have any subdomains. Useful to manage MX records, for me at least.

    Good luck!
