Yeah, it's really quantity over quality with them.
One strategy that works decently well is to advertise hot new products coming out on AdWords or other ad networks; I made a good amount on each new Harry Potter book. You could probably do the same on hit movies coming to DVD like Iron Man or The Dark Knight.

I've found amazon is the easiest to convert, it's big so if your visitors don't convert on the original product, they often buy something similar, but the payout is pathetic, they pay once a quarter, and the cookie is sh*t. If you have a crapload of traffic to send that way daily I suppose you could make an ok roi.
