I have it installed in my macbook pro right now haha, and honestly I love it, it's the same windows 8 btw. I think old fashioned people might have a hard time figuring it out but once you play with it it's kinda fun!
    Deff like it.

I think its great, its very productive, the search is awesome, the split window thing is a god send for email and messages. Its actually very useful once you tell it not to default all multimedia to tablet mode and to use desktop apps instead

I threw it on a VM for a few days and it destroyed my workflow. Then it locked me out for using a fake email during install (I assume anyway)...

That was probably the last straw for me with regards to Microsoft, I doubt I will ever go back. Also, Server 2012 looks like a joke.

Looks bad if you ask me but then again I haven't tried it even though I've got a legal copy for free.

Always stay one version behind with Microsoft until 2 years after release. Unless productivity isn't important. I quit being a beta tester for MS a long time ago.

I am sticking with my 7 for the moment.

Nope. Windows 7 was a success from day 1.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. Tell me what other OS release from Microsoft was a success from day 1? I can name 20 off the top of my head going all the way back to MS-DOS days that had serious problems right from the beginning. I don't think ANY OTHER version of a MS OS release had the success Win 7 had on release. Good luck if you jump into a new MS release before 2 years. You might just find yourself back in the Vista days.

All my production machines are XP. I'm not ready to dump all my apps and start over for Win 7 upgrade.

Using windows 8 and liking it so far. The new start menu/screen seems counter intuitive for mouse users though.

I would go back to windows 95 before someone could get me to install that piece of tablet shit on my machines.
Oh. I also love the fact that server 2012 also uses this tablet style (And you can´t disable it, lol) ! Would be great fun to work on your server like it is a fcking tablet.

They just want a piece of the big "shiny touchscreen smartphone cake".
    Fuck them.

I'm maybe a bit stuburn but to me it is Vista 2.

A version to avoid at any cost.

WIndows 8 sucks from day 1

Windows 7 is awesome from day 1, and quite stable no need for a change...

    Vista sucked from day 1

    XP rocks from day 1

    -- i see a pattern here --

I sincerly hope it is joke and too affraid to check it out.

HC/Z-80 with BASIC and tape storage was interesting and novel since i was virgin at that time and that was my first computing experience.
MS DOS was kinda boring except for Quake2 and Doom (MS DOS is single process o you could not run 2 programs at once)
Win 95 was awesome - you actually had a mouse and MS Paint and stuff
    Win 98 was better
    Win Me was even better
Win XP was the best ever, and still is
    Win Vista sucked ass
Win 7 is nice, still like XP better but I have 8GB RAM so...
Win 8 - only saw screenshots but i have a hunch it will suck
Linux CLI-only on server is nice and configurable, big learning curve though.
Linux as desktop sucks ass almost (but not as bad) as Vista
