It depends on what type of videos you want to make. Do you want a basic video with some text overlay, in which case Sony Vegas is very easy to use, and the home version will do all you need it to do.

If you are after manipulating the video to provide some type of special effects then you would want Adobe After Effects.

I haven't used Adobe Premiere - but it looks to have many of the same features as Vegas.

I personally create all my videos in Vegas.

You need a high spec pc with adobe too, if you don't have an i5 or i7 cpu I don't think it will even install.

So if you want to render a 10 min video shot in 1080p from raw footage, how long would it take you...

    Still working well is it?

I have used vegas extensively, and used premiere a bit. Vegas is easier to get started and understand, and premiere is a bit tricky, but many more options. I would recommend starting with vegas, and then when it doesn't do what you need move to premiere, and you'll never go back after that.

Sony Vegas is great. My friend has it and is able to do a lot with it. He has learned a great deal using this and he loves it as well.

I can edit any video for you.
I have got a powerful machine (i5 MBP with 10GB RAM) and about one year of postproduction editing experience for a TV channel.
I prefer Premiere Pro for editing.

Never had Vegas crash on me and it's a little easier to use than Adobe Premiere. I use bioth by the way. Also, you can install on slower processors but for faster render time I recommend an i5 or i7. You need 64-bit of course and 8 gigs will do the job. A discrete video graphics card is good as well.

No you don't need a high end computer, you can use Vegas with a laptop. Vegas has a proxy feature that allows the use of a minimum spec computer. Lot of info online about the proxy feature.

If you have a fast computer I think Sony Vegas is better, but Camtasia's interface is simpler and easier.

Anyways, I personally prefer to use Camtasia, is easier for me and I'm used to it, because I've been using it for years.

I am using Sony Vegas pro from the last 4 years and found it very easy. However I experienced Adobe Photo premiere but easy one is Sony Vegas pro.
