I was actually searching for an activity for my free time and I came across this google result. It has subpage links underneath the listing. Anybody know how he did this?

I've seen it on larger sites but I have yet to see it on a site like this.

Google must have thought that it has such high authority that they used its menus for quicker access to the right sections.

Its 1/2 way to sitelinks (4 links in a row under serp result). Full blown is 8 links in 2 rows under serp result.

Google doesn't say exactly how to get them, but I suspect you get them:

    1) When you have excellent page structure and good PR on at least 4 deep links
    2) When you are the choice people select from Google at least 50% (or at least a higher than average percentage) of the time when people search

I think the typical clickthrough rate for #1 is around 44% (of course can vary depending on niche and intent of searcher) ... so if you happen to somehow break that and get over 50% ... you end up with sitelinks.

This is why its extremely easy to get site links on a search for your domain name (because someone who is searching for your domain name in google nearly always clicks through to your website). Its far more difficult to get sitewide links on general terms, but it can happen.

If you want to get them on a keyword, first get #1 in google. Make your title clickbaitish to raise your click through rate above the average 44% for 1st spot. Over time you should get 1/2 way to sitelinks, then if you remain there solid for some time you'll end up with 8.

PS ... 1/2 way to sitelinks you will show 4 sublinks regardless of where you are in top 10 Google. When you get full blown to 8 sitelinks you need to be #1 for them to show.

Search for "free fonts", you see 1001freefonts.com 1/2 way to sitelinks.

Search for "free fonts 1001", you see 1001freefonts.com with full 8 sitelinks.

That's because people who seach for free fonts 1001 more often click through to that domain name ... the higher the percentage of clickthroughs probably the better chance at getting full vs 1/2 sitelinks.

I've had a couple of sites of the years with these. It happened when I got to have a very high authority site, BTW the niches weren't huge either. But a lot of people blogging about the site, linking to it, etc. and the sublinks were to the most popular categories for blog posts (these were WP sites).

I think it had to do with the fact that my site really was miles ahead of competition AND the fact that those categories were SEOd themselves pretty heavily to the point where the categories alone couldve outranked most of the competition.

My site has these at the moment, actually pointing to by 8 most popular pages. It's because the site is classed as an authority, aged site.
