Thinking about trying my hand at CPV to try and push some sales and grow my email list. Anybody here know of a good resource on the basics of the subject and/or have some advice?

Avoid: leadimpact & directcpv , we found extremely high rates of fraud when running campaigns with these networks. Both companies denied any fraud, but our clients recieved a huge amount of hits going from home page to checkout with nothing in the shopping cart. It looked very much the traffic was just accessing completely random pages. For both companies we had 0 sales and 0 leads after spending hundreds to thousands of dollars. Our company was so disappointed we had them refund the balance and closed our accounts with both companies. We won't be using them again.

Use: TrafficVance & Media Traffic (had sales and conversions + better traffic quality)

    *EDIT*

Adoori also provided complete shit traffic.

Subscribed, please share your experience if you do this. I tried to monetize PPV traffic with CPA email submits and building email list with aweber forms, nothing worked, almost lost a roof over my head. Good times :D

Orbit143: I had some luck doing dating CPA w/ media traffic.

*HINT* To those looking for ecig traffic, last time I spoke with my account manager they didn't have much of any ecig traffic. So while Media Traffic is a good network to roll with, you're better off using another network for e-cig traffic. <-- very hard to find good e-cig traffic in general!

dating really? I didn't even try that niche, everyone was telling me it wont work because of the poor geo targeting in PPV

http://stevegoldberg.name/PPVPlaybook.pdf is a good overview, http://www.internetzarada.org/attachment.php?aid=186 is a good noob guide, and draw your own conclusions about traffic sources rather than choosing not to test something because the internet told you it sucks (my best PPV ROI has been with LeadImpact, running payday, dating and edu in about that order, but you can find people who will tell you LI's all garbage traffic and doesn't work in those verticals) and I've found ppv to be much less profitable for listbuilding compared to FB ads to the point I don't bother with PPV anymore but of course YMMV.

I thought CPV had nothing to do with paying them per sale or "getting to check out" but rather just paying you per ad that gets seen? Am I wrong here?

Thanks for the reference links. I'm getting started with CPV too at Directcpv. Hope to learn up on some things before taking the plunge.

Also, to get into trafficvance these days you need either a very convincing business model and/or a big TV advertiser (best bet the CPA network you do the biggest numbers with) to vouch for you. Their focus is on big brands and advertisers with six-figure+ monthly budgets for their campaigns, not people who are going to toss up a sad little MMO squeeze page on CB products and nurse their $1000 deposit over a year.

son of a female dog! no wonder I haven't made a single sale with these idiots (DirectCPV). I spent almost 90 bucks already with highly targetted URLs and not one conversion. How did you get your refund? Do you think they'll refund what I have left in there?

I greatly appreciate your feedback Demon. Finally someone speaks up.
