I searched the forum, and found nothing on Futo, so posting this. Not sure if correct place to post this, forgive me but programming thread I didn't figure was exact fit, as this is an alternative organization with a alternative mission of helping decentralize the web.

Saw Louis Rossmann's YT channel posted yesterday (he is an Apple hardware repair shop and big into activism of "right to repair") he revealed his funder was a gentleman by the name of Eron Wolf. Futo is his organization in Austin he is building for programmers and others who want to make an impact at decentralizing the web, going back to before the oligarchy situation we have now, and pre-Gxxgle. Eron mentions he sold his business to and worked for Yahoo, then left. I watched the Futo YT videos which he talks about his goals and background- and these videos have a few hundred views only, low publicity and exposure. He is not a typical VC or angel investor and gave out several grants to various people who qualified a few weeks ago, grants include housing, etc to qualified "next big idea" start ups.

He funds 6 figures to Encyclosphere and Larry Sanger (Wikipedia ex-founder) which is meant to eventually be a non biased alternative to Wikipedia for non-biased information sharing. They too are looking for like minded people to participate.

I have no affiliation whatsover with any of the above and this is not any sort of promotion, nor recommendation I am just sharing something that I found interesting as a direction someone might want to head into. The idea is a movement for non silicon valley centralized and controlled applications and app store alternatives, you own and control your success, etc. Their end goal is NOT to sell out to increase the monopolization of all sorts of gobbling up small companies that has occurred these past 2 decades, but rather foster innovation and small businesses to be self sustaining.

You younger entrepreneurs and programmers are the future of the web and decentralization is sorely needed imho.

I would appreciate any and all positive or negative feedback from anyone and their opinions on this alternative de-centralization ideology.
