I have a website with a bunch of articles
I have internal and external links in my articles pointing to different sites

is there a way to track how many clicks do my links (and which links exactly) get from visitors (both external+internal links)?

thx

my site is on wordpress

If you are using Google Analytics, yeah that should be simple. You would need to set up custom events on the link clicks, you would also need to attach a custom variables on the link to whatever you think would find valueable down the line (i.e artcle category, link location especially if you are using standardized locations across the site. . . etc).

This can be done manually on each link (booo), writing a script into the template of the site that attached the custom event function to activate onclick, or use google tag manager to set up tag rules.

Personally i use redirect scripts to either cloak or track my clicks. That way i get to know the click count on those links.Since you are on wordpress ,WP Shorties is the plugin to count clicks.
