Any way to get a video to appear as a related one on a certain video?

Is there an effective way to go about doing this at all? I see that some music videos (not VEVO) are appearing on virtually every other similar sounding song as a related video. It definitely wasn't intentional on their part, but i've seen their videos grow by thousands of views a day because of this. It seems like a glitch or something that is keeping it in that same spot on the side.

Didn't you guys here that they have changed the related videos algorithm, meaning its not the same as it used to be to get in the suggested video ( e.g copy video tags ) . Suggested videos are now displayed by what the audience retention rate is among other things.

As for the likes of vevo videos, I am not sure how they do it. Some music videos for instance the new katy perry one is being suggested to me everywhere on youtube like even gaming videos. I'm sure they must have a deal with youtube to push so many views there from all around youtube.
