Any way to find out if a competitor is doing a 301 redirect from another domain ?

    Hi guys,

I have some problems with a competitor : there is no way he could beat me with just a few sh*tty backlinks as I have some really good ones and much more valuable than him.

I'm wondering if he doesn't have another domain having tons of backlink and if he's not doing a 301 redirect sending back the link juice to the domain i'm trying to beat.

Do you know of any wait to find out if he's doing that ?

    Cheers,

I don't think you can detect that, best way is to ask that competitor which is impossible

Actually I did it to a domain of mine thinking that it couldn't be detected and the domain I put a 301 redirect on was showing as backlink according to Yahoo Site Explorer.

So I wouldn't be sure you can't detect them.

Maybe he's site is quite old, his on-page SEO kicks ass (and your not so much) or maybe it is just a matter of time and Google will push you higher soon.

if a site ranks 1 for a higly competitive keyword and only has very little backlinsk that are shitty then he must use some sort of redirection like 301 or other.
