Different people, different opinion. I have only purchased two EMDs till date. I have used one of them and the other one is still unused, but that one domain has brought some success for sure, and yes, I went blackhat for this domain ;-)

.info is pretty easy to rank. No real penality, in my opinion.

Do like .org that much.
