Did you guys get a letter in the mail about how UTB is breaking away from Visa and partnering with Mastercard?

I got a letter that said United Teletech is partnering with Mastercard and breaking away from Visa, and it said that my new Mastercard debit card will be in the mail in a couple weeks. The problem is, the letter didn't say shit about whether my current Visa would still work (until my new Mastercard arrives). And I got the letter after the bank closed so I can't get any help from my local bank. The letter just said, "when your new card arrives activate it and switch any accounts using your Visa card to your new Mastercard".

I have to place a series of international orders and I placed them yesterday, all to the same place (I've used them dozens of times before) but all my payments keep getting declined.

Then I called the hotline on my Visa debit and they said "you have to call your local bank". Almost like they don't want to deal with Teletech users anymore.

I'm in a rush to get these orders placed, and I'm going to call the bank tomorrow, but I'm curious if anyone else is experiencing the same problem? Like, can a bank literally just shut down your debit card WEEKS BEFORE your new one arrives? That doesn't sound right to me. It's not expired, I got money in the bank, and this seems like a very unprofessional thing to do if this is what they actually did.

edit: Nevermind guys. Just found out it's a false fraud hold. Card working fine now so I'm closing this thread. :)
