Hey all... I haven't been making much $ lately because of things going on in life. Also I find myself distracted / losing focus on the task at hand... Any tips?? Caffeine helps. I smoke pot by the way but it makes me think more "Out of the Box" haha. I need to get my focus back Trying to learn PHP/JS and then VB.NET, plus actually making money by marketing (learned alot here atleast), and not being distracted is pretty hard...
If you really want to get focused.. then adderall or ritalin. That's focus without much work (if you consider swallowing or railing the pill work). It's ridiculous the amount of work you can get done. I learned an entire semester's worth of math overnight and got an A on my final exam Other than that it's more mental stuff that actually requires a lot of time and work. Check out Steve Pavlina's stuff. He's pretty good at just making you like him and his info lol P.S. I'm not condoning doing drugs or anything. They're dangerous for you so if you do plan to do them just know what you're doing.
Adderall is the way to go. You will be awake and focused for a good long time. I have found myself getting a lot done on an adderrall night.

Ritalin (methylphenidate) works. It's actually a brain-enhancer drug, as stated by some scientists. In my case I have a prescription (ADHD predominantly inattentive). Some side effects I don't like include: appetite supression (ok, not so bad ) and it makes me damn serious (kinda bad, since coworkers think I look down on them or something).
My strategy atm is having a well organized todo list, working at night (no noise, no people bothering) and having a cold can of Red Bull to be drinking throughout the night. But I found out that sometimes I can really focus and sometimes I just can't. I'd say it depends on your mood for the day.
Thanks for the responses everyone! My sister became addicted to Adderrall and would not sleep or eat for 3 days at a time. Eventually she would became pretty psychotic because of the lack of sleep + caffeine + adderral so I saw the worst case scenarios concerning it and will pass on the ADHD meds. It seems quite a few of you swear by them though...I am just looking for other ways, even though I am sure I could easily get it prescribed to me pretty easily... Keep this thread going!! I really like some of the posts
Yes, a To Do list can work pretty well if you can stay focused ...thanks for the response!! Does this really work for you?? I might read up on it...
Don't Think - Drink - this helps me -get wasted - do something stupid clear your conscience and then get back to wrk.
I focus on time rather than tasks. So I will have a count down timer and work away until the alarm goes off. It helps me to focus and increases productivity.
Had the same problem. For me helped a lot: -Cleaning desktop & sorting icons -Sorting project folders -No Skype, Yahoo,... while working -No Email check while working -Listening with headphones to Hemisync =>Concentration and similar sounds/music
