Well, I've been thinking about starting my own seller threads here on BHW for quite some time. I'd mostly get into writing, but I can also offer Reddit-related services.

Any tips on what I should be offering to provide something a little bit different, especially in regards to content creation?

I thought about recording a short video where I talk about my services, just to give it a little bit of a personal touch. What do you think?

Thanks!

If u care more about your customers, treat them better in satisfying will bring more customers to your business. Yes, trying different is okay but for writing service there is no need for a video explanation. I don't know what Reddit service you're planning so can't answer that.

In addition to what MisterF said, communicate with your buyers at all stages of the process. (On receiving order/payment / working on it / completion)

The sellers that do that really stand out to me.

Product/service Price
Quality product/service
Delivery time

And good communication.

Be Proactive. Communicate with the customers and provide them support related to your service, and not just sell your product / service to them :)

good support, on time delivery and extraordinary service will automatically increase your credibility and popularity

In my case, the #1 tip would be trying to post your sales thread in the correct section.

Remember - you are allowed to post in your selling thread every 72 hours.

Are you sure it's only 72 hours? The rules say you can't post promo codes or something every 72 but if I read it correctly you're allowed to answer questions etc... daily.

Reputation matters. Get involved in your niche and become the authority. Help answer questions etc. I like buying from people who I know are active in the community and have a reputation that I trust.

If you have expertise, authority and trust before you launch you're halfway there.

Either I'm missing a coffee or that's saying the same thing as I am. You can answer questions every 24 hours - not wait for 72.

You are correct - you can respond to questions every 24 hours but only post something promotional every 72 hours.

Also, if nobody posts in your thread for 72 hours you are also allowed to post.

Good tip you shared about the correct section as sometimes us Mods miss that when we are reviewing a BST to help it go live (as much my error as it was yours in your instance).

I think a video is a great idea. I really like that format. UpWork introduced freelancer videos this year, for example, and I gotta say those come in handy when making a hiring decision.

I really don't see a point in making a video, to be honest.
The best idea for content writing is to have samples available in multiple niches and keep them of the same quality you will deliver to your customers so they do not get unpleasantly surprised.
And TAT should be as quick as possible.
Also send a notification to the customer after you get the payment that you received it and when the content should be ready.
You may also offer refund policy if you fail to deliver on TAT for extra protections for clients.

Has anybody tried the banner ads here on bhw? Did you get a good roi?

Thanks, everyone, for sharing your tips. I spent some time reading through the guidelines of the marketplace. I still have a couple of questions related to my offer, but I think I should contact a mod first before working on the whole thing.

I feel like the video would add more credibility to my services. Aside from that, I have a good genuine idea that I believe would drive more customers my way. I've been successful marketing my writing services on freelancing platforms, but it's different here; it's a community, after all.
I hope I get it just right.

Either upgrade and sell or not... preselling as this has come to with your reviews is not allowed nor would those reviews be allowed in a sales thread.
