I've been trying LOTS of stuff now.. Cpa, affiliate marketing (clickbank and so on), building websites, sharec*sh, you name it... Nothing has paid off exept sharec*sh, but it's not something i enjoy working with. I'm simply not seeing the results i hoped for. Sure you might think i give up too fast, but i've been trying things out for roughly 3 years... So now i want to try something i actually think will be enjoyable.

Making videoes, get a croud of subscribers who support your work, comes with ideas, and overall likes, or dislikes your shit...
Money is ONE thing, but enjoying what you do is another!
I also like the idea of passive income. Youtube can bring you a lot of money if you go the blackhat route, the problem is your videos get deleted too fast, if you do it all legit and whitehat, i believe you can earn way more over time.

Now my question is, how many subscribers (legit, no fakes) does it take to earn like 3k a month? I'm thinking 30k subs... but is that wrong? I need to know! :) Need to know what to aim for...

    Thanks !

I do not think you can earn 3k per month "legit" and "whitehat" on YouTube. Of course i can be wrong, but i do not know even one person which earn serious income from legit YT marketing.

Being a partner get you a $1.8-3 CPM, so do the math. You will need around 1.6M views monthly.

250,000 views gets roughly $500 in the gaming niche

typically only 1 in 8 subs will watch your video so work your subs needed from that

FPSRussia, EPICMEALTIME, FreddieW and RWJ - all make $100k per year doing this.

saying "you can't make $hit whitehat" is stupid. You will never get a partnered account for black hat deeds.

unless you have a top class unique idea and an epic personality you won't get anywhere

Oh trust me, I've talked to one of the guys you mentioned in your post - won't say his name, but he makes $250k/month. Don't forget the ads they put in their videos (Netflix, etc)

Thanks... I know you can make a living with roughly 50k subs.. A youtuber who had that many said so, he wouldn't tell how much he made exactly though, as it is against the terms and conditions of being a partner.

    subs =/= views

I hate how people think more subs will equal more views, it's not accurate, ifr anything, more views = more subs.

That being said, my personal rate is about 3$ for every thousand views on youtube right now. so you go do the math.

I agree, and disagree. Fake subs means nothing, but 1000 subs compared to 0 definately means more views for your videos. Just saying. Sure if your content is crap and people is subscribing by mistake, or simply because they "can" but isn't really interested in your shit. Then they are worthless. There is a difference between quality subs, and bad subs... ;)

I've always wondered how much they earn.. but I remember once I read that RWJ makes 1mil$ a year.. and I was like WOW!
Now you're telling me that he (I'm guessing you talked to RWJ) makes 250k$ a month?! Hmm... If you excuse me, I'm going to make a new video :p
