    Hey guys,

Just came across UBOT on here and WF and looks like a pretty cool tool
for building automation software. Anyone got any reviews? I could think of
ten thousand money making and time saving tasks that this could do but if its a flop, i need to know before I go spending $500 on the Pro edition.

    Thanks in advance,

    wb

    I'd second that.

Used to use Ubot, now using Zennoposter when not doing custom work.

Yep, huge difference, and I'd recommend trying each out before taking the dive. My opinions based on having used both and also having watched some of the drama unfold around them:

    - ZP is way more powerful and more stable than ubot; the potential downside of that power is ZP has a higher learning curve than ubot, but to me that is a plus...a huge plus; and I jumped off the ubot boat a long time ago due to bugginess, but I've heard the latest version is even worse as far as bugs and instability

    - some people have complained about ZP not being able to make compiled .exe's or scripts that you can give to/sell to people without ZP to run; I can see that and in my own case I would like to be able to run the templates I've created in ZP on other machines of my own where I don't have it installed

    - in a way, you might compare the two to iphones and androids - ubot is easy, supposed to work right out of the box, and is somewhat limited in its capabilities; ZP is very extensible (you can add in your own C# or PHP code, for example), more complex of an environment due to its extensibility, and can really do just about anything you want.

    - on a personal level, I don't care for some of the things the ubot team has done in the past; ZP team has been very helpful and informative.

    Definitely recommend trying both out.

    peace - gregs.

Actually, I found Zennoposter much easier to learn....Ubot was annoyingly complex...

There are also rumors that Zennoposter is going to add compiled .exe soon but I don't know if it's true...

I think ZP is fairly easy to learn for someone with some (even a little) coding experience or a willingness to learn. And one thing I like and enjoy about it is you can always learn new things to do with it. But to me it's not a real plug and play, visual basic type of simpleton environment (and I mean that in a good way, VB was a pain in the ass back in the day because of how dumbed down it was; switching to C++ was a huge upgrade).

The only annoying complexity in ubot I found were the bugs.

I've heard that rumor too about compiled .exe's - would be awesome...that's about all I really want for Christmas :)

Since you really have to learn how to use them both you could always go the free route and learn to code in VB.NET.

Sure there is more of a learning curve than the both of the two mentioned apps but the upside is that you can build MUCH more powerful tools of your own.

Plus there are so many tutorials and code floating around you can almost just grab the source and make a few minor changes and patch an app in no time.

But that's my two cents. I have used Ubot in the older days an you still have to learn a little to get up and running.

    But that's just me.

I doubt that rumor is true. They have spoken many times about not doing this and why, it's really not in there best interest to be honest.

Yes they have, but so many people have requested that now so they stopped saying "No" like they did before. But they dont reveal upcoming features either...but people are suspecting it's on it's way...since that's the only advantage ubot has over zenno...

At least compiling .exe on authorized computers should be allowed. For selling I think they will make a developer license so you can compile .exe and sell...

Well, that would be interesting. For the record though I wouldn't call it an advantage though, it may be a selling point but not really an advantage.

If you've coded before (anything really from VB to C++) then you'll have a huge advantage.
ZP - I created my first macro/not about 2 hours after I downloaded it.
Within 3-4 days of playing with it say 2 hours a day I had 2 really good tools.
8 weeks later and I have about 12 that I use all the time. Most create links in places no other tools I have found can.

I can create links in just about everywhere that Xrumer can - just not as quick (but still many thousands per day).

It's a shame you can't .exe your results, but for me that's a good thing. I don't want others doing what I'm doing.

Soon as it gets cowded I think of something new, a few hours later the BOT is built.

Zenno is not that hard for someone who has programmed before, and the $197 option is worth its weight in gold for me.

It is an advantage too. Because with Ubots .exe I can run the .exe using SEnuke's commandline. Also, it's much easier having the .exe on my desktop instantly clicking on it instead of having to open zennoposter, opening the template, setting it up, and clicking run.

With a .exe I can execute it in 1 click. With zennoposter it takes 8-10 clicks unless you have zennoposter open all the time with the templates loaded which I don't...

Yea, I can see your point there. My main point is that you don't have a million people with Zennoposter running around creating stuff to sell.

It's really not a good idea to give every Tom Dick and Hank that much power IMO.

I don't see the problem to be honest :)

Lol, Ubot is not 1/10 as powerful as Zennoposter is, ever seen a multithreaded Ubot app? Or one that can confirm emails? I could go on with the list but I think you get the point.

Well to be fair, i *did* make an auto aol webmail creator, and email confirmer as well back in the day with Ubot. It was a nice lil bot too..signed up at various web 2.0 sites, status net sites, confirmed emails and submitted links..true, wasn't the fastest, but it worked
