I found out about proxies a while back, they have kind of interested me. but when i read about them and how they are used online, every article says something different.

All i know so far is that proxies can be used to bypass any restricted website and most importantly what i want to focus on is using different proxies can change your ip address.

    My questions are

Are there different types of proxies?
    How are they different?
Which ones are the better ones?
Can proxies be detected at all?
    Were can i buy proxies
How can i use them on a mac

Can i choose a location from where i want a ip address from?

You probably know this already but make sure the proxies you use are anonymous/elite.

Yes it does, transparent proxies are completely useless. They need to be anonymous or elite.

It does, proxies need to be anonymous or elite to hide your IP address.

Transparent proxies don't hide your IP address.

but if you were creating a fake ebay account and paypal account and you use an elite proxy that hides your ip, they'll ban you but if you use a transparent proxy you'll be fine.

hi i am after some proxies for uk but i have an issue that needs clearing up.

when i use a free proxy i can no longer use the internet as i get this screen - zscaler directory authentication which asks for a login name and password to access the internet, https://gateway.zscaler.net/

will these proxies get round this? or will it do it for every proxy i use?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
