After drama shared hosting at inmotion I decided to switch to vps hosting.

This is my first time vps hosting and using plesk, managed to setup ftp, add a database and installed WP, pretty happy about it as I have multiple domains which I can host myself now.

I got a WP theme which gave some info what the theme requires.

First off it said that my php was outdated, so in the php panel I changed it to php 7, saved the settings but still the theme info keeps saying I'm using the old php 5, what am I doing wrong?

Second I got 2 more notifications and those are:

PHP Value upload_max_filesize In your php.ini file is too low. Please contact your hosting service to increase this value to 6MB at least. Actual value is 2 MB
    &
PHP Value max_input_vars In your php.ini file is too low. Please contact your hosting service to increase this value to 5000 at least. Actual value is 1000

As I understand it is somewhere on /etc/php.ini but I have no clue how to access and edit it.

Probably pretty basic stuff but I'm a designer by trade and server related knowledge isn't my forte :)

Hope someone can help me out.

    Cheers.

    CentOS Linux 7.3.1611
    Plesk Onyx 17.0.17

You can set your upload_max_filesize limit there.
To access etc/php.ini file, you can login via FTP with root access

Thanks but I also did that but WP still shows old settings.

Through ftp, so then that would be different than the domain ftp right?

Would it be host: IP, name:root. And it's root PW?

Plesk was cheaper :) plus I like the interface better.
I want to fix issues myself first and learn along the way ;)
