BHW Friends,

Over the past year or so I have been following the fitness industry avidly. I have recently become a certified personal trainer, and am looking to use my prior online knowledge to try and kill it in my local area. I have just built my website, got my business setup and researching and reading various fitness and training profits guides and courses I got from the vault. I was hoping there were a few others in this industry that could share their experiences and any advice that they have. I am certainly willing to answer any questions you may have as well. Looking forward to the responses :)

To Your Success,
JRM9

My coach in high school used to be a strength coach for the Minnesota Vikings. I think personal trainers need to build a resume like everyone else.

Valid point. Starting out is no easy task, especially if you are looking to start your own business. I can say that people looking for personal trainers could care less about what certifications you have or what education you have. People are looking for results, so you have to show them that you can give them those results. Specializing in a certain area of training will get you that much more respect and trust (sport specific, weight-loss, bodybuilding) than a trainer who trains young and old, weight loss and bodybuilding, ect. Knowing more than anyone else in your area for your niche can make you a local celebrity if marketed properly.
