I am filling out paperwork for our marketing plans as to where and what we are planning to do to get our next two shorts done.

I already have an online station interested in giving it airtime, and have a list of about 10-15 free channels to submit to. I also have approx 7 stations that possibly could purchase the said films.

Maybe 4-5 papers that I could do a press release for, and obviously a shit ton of festivals that we can send to...

Looking for other ideas to expand reach or possibly more places to try to sell non exclusive rights and such.

Obviously I am willing to trade information.

And please, we will not make anywhere near the investment with youtube ads...so not worth mentioning unless you have an idea how we could get 50M legit views hahaha!

I get this question a lot, an indie film I did post production on is about to debut soon as well. The method of marketing this film is getting people in theaters for the debut. Especially historic theaters. Then marketing the exclusive tickets. After that the film goes to Amazon. You would need have some status to pull this one off. Debuting at colleges helps as well.

Another method for building buzz is to release your production specs and guest post the process of making the film to filmaking and camera blogs. That way people who aren't interested will still watch because they want to see how well the camera and lens performed in your productions hands. Then you can use the debut strategy above to build curiosity. But it better be good if you try that.

Yeah, I hear what you are saying but that only applies to setting up during prod and post prod to get the buzz going. Would not apply to our situation as we are building our marketing strategy in order to go get the money we are after. So a theoretical film debut especially for a short film, would be kinda hard to swallow for the investors.

Although we got some pull with locals down here that, if I asked, would prob be down to lend a hand and make this happen...It is still to "up in the air" for us to use in our current plan.

However, still a good idea non the less for other people who might be reading this thread.

I really liked the idea for the camera specs however. Had not thought of that, and def will try that out in the future!
