    Pardon me for jumping in especially being a noob and all, but I've been pretty heavily researching the development of my "grand strategy" and have discovered there's a growing trend of folks that think G more or less has tiered link building down cold. To give you a very summarized conclusion of what I've learned and coalesced into my perspective- it's still viable but you have to be a LOT more sensitive to the finer details which people aren't used to and are bound to get frustrated with. Someone is probably going to come along and own me for being such a zealous noob on the subject but I'm going to suggest the days of frying your bottom tier spinning the middle and hitting tier1 with a broom are over.
