Twitter exec accidentally tweets about possible business deal

Chief Finical Officer Anthony Noto sent a tweet Monday that said, ?I still think we should buy them,? a message that looks like it was meant to be a private note to another Twitter head. It?s not clear what possible accusation the social media network could be eyeing.

Even Twitter execs can?t figure out how to use their product.

Twitter?s Chief Finical Officer Anthony Noto accidentally tweeted about a possible acquisition ― but it looks like he meant to send the note as a private message.

"I still think we should buy them. He is on your schedule for Dec 15 or 16 ? we will need to sell him. I have a plan," Noto tweeted Monday to his 9,000 followers.

With the clumsy tweet, Noto joins the ranks of famous Twitter misusers, such a crotch-photo-sending Anthony Weiner and Twitter-ranting ex-PayPal exec Rakesh Agrawal. Both posted crude messages on their public accounts, thinking they were sending private messages.

Noto?s tweet was quickly deleted, but not before followers could start speculating about the cryptic business deal.

Twitter bought four companies this year: Micro, a password manger; TapCommerce, a mobile ad startup; Namo Media, another mobile ad firm; and Gnip, a social data provider. The social media giant owns a slew of other companies, including popular video network Vine and desktop client TweetDeck.

It?s not clear which company Twitter could be eyeing for acquisition.

It?s not clear what Noto could have been eyeing for Twitter?s next deal.

Earlier this year, PayPal?s strategy head, Rakesh (Rocky) Agrawal went on a Twitter rant, calling one of his coworkers a ?useless middle manager? and a ?piece of s--t.?

He was fired when the message ― intended to be sent to just one other person ― ended up on his public account.

But former congressman Anthony Weiner might be Twitter?s most infamous careless tweeter.

After he sent a photo of his crotch to his 67,000-plus followers in 2011, he claimed it was supposed to be a sext to just one woman ― and then he admitted to exchanging racy private tweets with several other women.
