Just to let everyone know the other day this site was moved to a new dedicated server. As you can probably tell this forum is running so much faster now! :D

I would also like to take this opportunity and ask if there is any vBulletin modification / hack you would like to see included in Black Hat World? If so just reply with what you want...If it's cool and benefits more than one person it will be added. :cow_yello

    Thanks!
    -Dave

I think adding more green cows would only benefit myself as I don't see anyone else using them.

Last time I had a shout box up a couple of Russian hackers had hacked the mod and redirected all of my forums to there freaky site so I'm a little weary of adding this feature. Thanks for the suggestion though.

U need some kind of rule about posting offers in the buy/sell/scam forum.

Say 100 posts before you can post something for sale?

I agree with Tomred, 100 posts (50 sounds more realistic, though) required before being able to offer something for sale on the forums without being perma-banned.

That is a good idea, I will make it so that users need 25 posts before you can sell goods and services or post a thread in buy sell trade forums. This feature should be up and running soon. 25 posts will at least give members an idea of who this person is. We don't want users with two posts, trying to sell $200 software lol. 25 posts is still small but can always be changed later on to a higher number if needed.

this may be unworkable but there needs to be some way to check these 25 posts for quality. this could be by mods (and the reason it would prbably be unworkable due to the workload) or through a voting system based on the usefulness fo the post (this may already exist here).

just that 25, "nice site" and "thankyou" doesnt really show anything.

I've been thinking about what you said and I agree with you Milligan 25 posts is not that much. A user could easily rack up 25 posts in one sitting with two word posts. I will talk with new moderators once we have them and come to a happy median.

Well, I don't claim to know vbulletin, but as has been pointed out in this forum, counting posts is erroneous by nature as it is quality which matters. In other forum software users can be assigned groups. Assuming vbulletin supports such an architecture, the forum could be configured to have new users assigned to a limited group and once an admin has determined that a user isn't just full of shit, the user could be assigned to another group which allows such marketing.

An Ajax based chat hosted on your server wouldn't hurt either and wouldn't be public.

Hey Dave, I saw on some vbulletin forums members can give good rep or bad rep to another. I think a bad rep option can give benefit to members here, especially in the buy and sell sections. So sellers will have reputations that will help buyers to decide whether he/she will buy or not.

Sorry about the grammar mess, just woke up and straight to my computer lol

Hi Dave although l am a new member l have known some of your members for a few years and l have to say l like the forum, just a few things that may or may not help the forum.
You have people with the forum that have a lot of expertise, so it would really make the forum really valuable if you could get a mastermind project section going where these guys could actually test some of these blackhat programs and offers and publish the results within that section of the forum and so that you got rid of the nutters and time wasters and made yourselves a little cash you could charge a little fee to gain entrance to the inner sanctom and benefit from these tests. regards Nicho
