Any money in sites for resizing images and other small tasks like this?

Wondering if anyone here runs or knows if the sites where you can simply upload an image, alter it a certain way either by resizing or compressing, actually make money.

Do they and how hard are they to actually set up? I fear the uploading welcomes plenty of attacks possibly by uploading malicious files and whatnot.
