    Hi guys,

You all have heard the news about Megaupload.. Me as a member of this forum for a long while now would like to ask your support for my friend Bramos from Megaupload.. As for family and friends we cannot do a lot anymore, but as a friend I can give him support though. I have created this fan page on Facebook to support him, created a Twitter account and a Youtube video. I hope to see some love from you all! LIKE, Retweet and share the video if you want to help me to get it to viral..

    Thanks in advance!

No offense bro but this is a lost cause and your video is misleading...SOPA / PIPA had NOTHING to do with Megaupload getting shut down.

As saddening as it is that Megaupload went bye bye, when you're making $42 million per year off mostly pirated content, and know that bust still willingly put yourself all over the place and in the public eye...well you're just asking for trouble.

EDIT: That and it's hard to feel bad for a guy that when raided had millions of dollars in cash, $5 million in luxury cars, and lots of guns. I mean damn, bro, what did you expect?

This actually DOES have something to do with SOPA / NO-IP...you may ask, what relation? Well it's obvious, if the US Government already has enough power to shut down a non-us based website, get the owner rested and seize his goods then why do they need even more power?

Also, the US Government are not very bright, we have the hidden wiki filled with illegal services, CP and other nasty illegal content and yet they would rather shutdown a website which contains copyright? Obviously they do not care it's all about the money for them.

It had .com as its tld, all .com are owned by Verisigin which is located and registered in the United States. They also had servers based in the U.S. which was all it took for them to be subjected to U.S. laws. Had there been no servers in the U.S. megaupload.com could have just been seized by the feds, and they would have been able to get another website. The company was not registered in the U.S. but it was operating largely out of the U.S.

A U.S. court cannot shutdown a true foreign based website.

Guys, thanks for the replies, but I was really hoping to get some more ideas how to get more exposure for the FB page and Youtube video.

this truly was hopeless - Im guessing its all about the money anyways ... a concerted effort away from .coms and the bullying of ICANN is needed. And also away from google while Im at it ... miss the days of altavista and yahoo :) and others

Kim & co did it all for greed. They're not freedom fighters or whatever BS propaganda is put out their. They're unlikeable thieves. Kim is a convicted criminal.

They got so blinded by their money and arrogance, that they got slack. They thought they were too clever.

    Tough luck.

brother in arms - how can content hosters be held liable - the prosecution by the fbi's 72 pg plus indictment is malicious at least ... and overbearing to the B.
