So I have flipped sites for the past six years or so but 99% of the buyers I have want to see organic search engine traffic. I have several sites that I use somewhat blackhat methods (more grey hat, nothing that is illegal or would get you banned) to drive traffic and revenues but I am not sure if there would be much of a market to sale these type sites.

I have two or three sites that make $1500 to $2k a month using these methods but I would be concerned that once I told the interested buyer what I was doing they would have no need for the site. They would just use the methods that I told them about and buy a $200 sites someone and do that same thing.

I would like to sell a few of them for $2500 or so but really the method is what is really worth the money. Does anyone think there is much of a market for these type sites.

Depends on how badly you need the $2500, I guess ;)

This is a pretty difficult situation indeed. I've had a few sellers approach me with similar question in the past and as a broker - I've had to say thanks but no thanks for the exact reasons you've mentioned.

From time to time I've seen people try and sell their sites saying that they will only reveal traffic sources to the buyer. Obviously, that doesn't work as this determines how sustainable the traffic sources are/aren't and this in turn determines the multiple.

The best you can do here really is either hold on to the sites, or alternatively sell them to someone you know and trust, and who knows and trusts you.

Why would you sell a 1500 bucks a month website for just 2500 bucks? Just keep it.
