title basically says it all. im about to make a website and was thinking of putting twitter in the name. I just wanted some insight on that before I did. don't want a lawsuit on my hands if my site gets well known lol

Just to clarify, you're asking if there could be any legal ramifications of trying to profit by using a trademarked company name, when you are not associated with that company, right?

Oh yeah, you'll hear about it eventually. Stay the hell away. They WILL Send you a C&D in the mail. twitterâ„¢

if you are going to do it register the domain somewhere bullet proof...think Sweden

also bullet proof hosting would be essential

if they do not know where you are they cannot send a C&D

icann is controlled by the usa which controls good portion of the internet... location doesn't matter on this one

unless you register with cnnic but eventually you will lose anyway

best advice is stay away

If they cant get you. They will get someone to leech your server till your bandwidth is used up. Seriously, don't mess with this stuff.

Don't even bother with doing this, a very bad idea. I've had a problem with this before and it isn't worth the headache.

okay definitely will come up with another name. thank yall

Its not legal buying domain name with twitter without askin twitter

twitter is trademarked, so yes you can get sued, but the question is will they waste their time with your little website
