Anyone know what weight Google assigns to Twitter profiles?

I'm assuming junky newly created accounts aren't assigned any weight, but for long term influential accounts with lots of followers, what PR does G assign? Do they use things like Klout to measure influence or have inhouse metrics of their own?

Yes, I know Goog is generally v secretive about their algorithm, but perhaps there is some info out there that I am not aware of, or Matt Cutts covered it on his blog, or such.

    Thanks!

Make up your mind, are you talking about PR or about authority? Two different things.

For what i've seen, i guess that social networks can pound for maybe 20% at all in Google ranking.

The website content became really really more important but they have their place.

Personnaly, i was ranked in first page for competitive keywords without having twitter account at all and i know few guys in the same market that are posting everydays in twitter and dont are not ranked up well anymore.

    Absolutly true.

PR should be absolutly nothing more than backlinks.. (at least, in the past)..

    How so?

To me what would make sense is Google would look at a profile's authority and translate that into PR, which would be used when calculating the weight of the link you have on that profile.

Not entirely sure what you're differentiating as far as PR and authority.

Sorry, maybe I didnt state my question clearly, I meant what weight does Google assign a backlink on a Twitter account, and how does it determine which profiles are more authoritative, and therefore which ones should have more PR counted for the links from them?

As far as social authority on the social network, obv that's a different issue.
