This is a new site, and I noticed my leads dropped off a cliff about 10 days ago. I've been doing some moderate linkbuilding with SB, put out some videos on YouTube, wrote about 5 original articles, submitted to social bookmarking sites, (just got upgraded to PR1), and purchased a 25k worldwide traffic from someone on BHW (spread out over 30 days). I mean, nothing terribly aggressive here, but I have no idea what is going on with my leads...the drop happened shortly after the purchased traffic drip started, just asking for suggestions because given my earnings before the traffic boost, it is hard to understand why that even if this is junk traffic, I'm still not getting something of a trickle here.

You could be dancing. It's normal.

Did you recently build some backlinks using scrapebox? And are you blasting links directly to your site?

Thanks RealRazzy...Yes I've been building bl's recently, like the last week, but because my proxies are public and the quality of the site list isn't terrific, I've probably only put out several hundred bl's with SB, so I didn't think it would have much of an effect.

That said, many of them were to the site itself or to the blog on the subdomain, and some were to YouTube. (Somehow got a link on harvard law edu blog o_O ) Anyway, I probably need to do a Squidoo or Ezine asap and just hit that with SB.

I wondered if the revenue slump was related to the dance, but my Alexa rank has jumped since buying the traffic stream (I know, I know, it may not matter) so I figured that I should be getting more organic traffic than I am...especially since a couple of my submits to Stumbleupon received 150-250 views in a really short time, and were linked to the site. 10 days with no $ is a bummer...however, let me say that while I'm still a noob, this the first time I've made $ on the net, so I'm thankful to BHW for all the help and motivation.

And for other noobs who may be reading this...seriously, when you're all like 'I want to make $ on the internet, but I don't know where to start!' etc, and someone with a couple stars next to their name gives advice or just tells you to 'Read, read, read!'...listen and follow instructions...these guys know what they're doing. My first post is filled with some great links, downloadable attachments, and thread suggestions from people here, which you may want to check out: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/black-hat-seo/342679-anyone-willing-adopt-newbie.html

If your site is dancing, that would probably be the reason for the drop.
No traffic on earth converts like targeted Google traffic.

Asked the company I'm an affiliate for what they thought was happening, and this was their response: (I bought the traffic package on BHW a couple weeks ago, fwiw):

The problem seems to be with your traffic sources.
It has also come to our attention that your account is engaging in unwanted activity.
Specifically, it appears that your visitors are generating far more searches than are necessary to generate your Leads. In fact, your average visitor runs 49 searches for every Lead they generate. By comparison, our own website runs less than 2 searches per Lead, and our other Affiliates often sit between 2 and 4.
This generally only happens when you use default search dates on your Affiliate Links, or try to force the user to run searches when they aren't interested in booking hotel rooms.
We strongly suggest you check your Affiliate Links/Search Boxes and make sure you don't pre-select Check-in/Check-out dates in the URLs.

Most importantly you should avoid buying traffic from websites that offer a large amount of traffic at a very cheap price. These cheap traffic sources tend to use popup/popunder advertising to attract visitors and they also tend to include untrustworthy traffic quality and click-bot traffic.

You may not spend much money, but the huge percentage of fraudulent and low-quality clicks will have a negative impact on your Affiliate account, and this could lead to your account being suspended by our Security Team.

Our evidence shows that you may have fallen victim to a less-than-reputable traffic source, so the solution to your problem is to remove these traffic sources from your marketing methods.

Its normal with a new site that it would do semi-good in Google for several weeks and then disappear from SERPs. That disappearance can last from a couple weeks to a couple months depending on the quality of your backlinks.
