I was planning to try contabo for my PAA/AI blog project but there seems to be too many negative reviews regarding support/downtime, etc. Are there any contabo alternatives that provides similar specs for low cost? Anyone used nestify.io? I'll be using WordPress to run my blogs.

I've been using contabo for years by now and never had a problem with downtime,
For the support, yes they're slow and do not provide technical help, but you don't need it as long as you know what you're doing

How reliable are they during high traffic?

Thank you. I don't have much time learn the technical aspect so was planning to use cpanel add on. The problem was that there were too many 1 star reviews for contabo which made me think twice.

Hetzner may be an alternative
Heard good reviews about them. Will check it out. Thank you.

Yes, I was also searching for good vps and found contabo but there are too many negative reviews, specially forum members are not recommending contabo

How was your experience with contabo?
Just negative in aspects of performance, availability and customer support. The Contabo VPS performs slower despite better specs on paper (# vCPUs, RAM, NVMe) than a Hetzner VPS, the network is congested, data centers are often down for hours, customer support does not exist at all. Their €5 offer is nice if you don't rely on the VPS for professional use, but for nothing else.

Strange. I have quite a bunch of servers with them, and not a single problem over the years. Not a single downtime, performance is solid.

Contabo is described as 'offers low-cost dedicated servers, virtual private servers, webspace and colocation. Professional hosting solutions for businesses of all sizes' and is a Web Hosting service in the online services category. There are more than 50 alternatives to Contabo for a variety of platforms, including Online / Web-based, Linux, SaaS, Windows and Android. The best alternative is DigitalOcean. It's not free, so if you're looking for a free alternative, you could try Website Free Host or Deta. Other great apps like Contabo are Microsoft Azure, Namecheap, Amazon Web Services and Gandi.net.

I use contabo for hosting PAA scripts. They are good, no downtime. But they are not user friendly. I have a developer on standby to operate things/tweak. They have no support.

Cost wise, the best I know if you are in the volume game

Is it a germany company? I guess if you want to host a germany website, it maybe good. There are a lot of options like siteground if you are doing English websites.

I went through some reddit threads on contabo reviews and this is the same they said

The positive and negative reviews are almost 50-50 so it gets confusing to choose

No free hosts. I'm planning digital ocean or vultr with cyberpanel. I'm ready to pay but I'm starting small so don't want to invest a lot until I start seeing some results.

Have you come to a decision?

Contabo just announced a price increase - the only email you'll receive are from their "Chief Revenue Officer" LOL.

Hi, I am thinking of migrating from Contabo to Hetzner. But confused on what to buy:

Hetzner VPS - CCX32:
vCPU: 8 AMD
RAM: 32 GB
Disk space: 240 GB
Traffic: 20 TB
Price: € 91.51 / mo

OR

Hetzner Dedicated Server - AX51-NVMe:
CPU: 8 cores / 16 threads @ 3.6 GHz AMD Ryzen™ 7 3700X
Generation: Matisse (Zen 2)
RAM: 64 GB ECC DDR4 RAMDrives
Disk space: 2 x 1 TB NVMe SSD
Price: €70.57 / month

I am confused why Hetzner Dedicated server is cheaper than its VPS. I have multiple high-traffic wordpress and File Hosting and streaming websites.

Should I buy Hetzner Dedicated Server or VPS? Thanks.

The dedicated server seems a better value.

Their "standard" CPU VPS seems good in term of price (that would be the CX51 for you), but the higher end "dedicated CPU" VPS don't seem competitive compared to their dedicated servers. Indeed.

Maybe you have less risks of down time with the VPS (if the server breaks). But this seems the only potential advantage. Does it justify for you to pay more compared to the specs? Or I am missing something and I'm as confused as you.
